A short 15 minute walk west of Horderns is Bonnie Vale which is part of the Royal National Park. It is  apopular picnic spot and camping ground, attracting many visitors from day trippers to overnight campers. It is surrounded by national park and is the pick up point for Bundeena Kayaks. You can set up for an alfresco lunch on one of the many picnic tables or roll out your picnic blanket on the attractive grassed areas. It is well equipped with ample tables, barbecues and toilets.

Bonnie Vale campground is located between Bundeena and Maianbar. This popular family-friendly riverside campground is known for its large sand spit, which makes it a great swimming spot. Whether you choose to pitch a tent or bring your caravan, you’re sure to have a comfortable stay at Bonnie Vale. The campground is equipped with flushing toilets, hot showers and drinking water, so you won’t need to rough it, although all sites are unpowered.
